Our school was built on a 4 acre site during 1985/86 and opened its doors to pupils on 1st September of 1986.
Monkspath school originally opened as a two form entry school and there were 180 children admitted onto the school roll during that first year. The school quickly grew and in the late 1990s the building was extended so that we could become the 710 place three form entry school that we are today. We currently admit children from 7 months of age up to 11 years old, when they move on to secondary school.
Our Head Teacher, Mr Dan Wild has been working at Monkspath School since September 2006, firstly as Deputy Head Teacher and now as Head Teacher. Currently Mrs Dawn Walton (Years 4-6 Department Head), Mrs Natasha Jervis (Years 1-3 Department Head) and Mr Dean Hogarth (Early Years and Extended Day Department Head) are our Deputy Headteachers who also form the Senior Leadership team.
